Late on a stormy summer afternoon, Deseret Power Railway Units 1, 2 and 3 sweep past acres of sage brush and exposed outcrops at 27 Mile, about halfway between the Utah border and Bonanza Power Plant. The railroad and a power line are the only signs of alterations made to the Earth's surface by humans that are visible in this view of Coyote Basin.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
