Pennington agent/operator J.B.Chadwell points a finger at an approaching motorist at the crossbuck-only unprotected crossing near the depot. He's flagging to allow train 864 to get a "run for the hill" ("Big Pennington"). Engineer Sam Sturgill grabs a notch or two on the EMD-Alco mix of power as the train accelerates through town.
