I make no apologies for this image as it's taken at one of the few open locations on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey that enjoys full sunlight in winter and who could resist such lovely late afternoon lighting? The railway was running 'Santa Specials' today and hopefully values those who bring their children or grandchildren along (like me). Why then have they planted lineside trees precisely at this one location? Inevitably they will begin to obscure this wonderful view. It's either thoughtless or deliberate. I'd like to think it's the former - but I suspect it's the latter. Photographers provide free publicity and are paying customers too! Moan over.
