A former Union Pacfic C40-8, now operated by Citicrop Railmark Incorporated has just returned to the main from the South Charleston Yard after dropping off 24 cars off of Richmond destined manifest, Q302. This is my first of many previously failed attempts at capturing a sharp pan at night. 1/4th of a second at ISO 6400 F/4.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
Pace and pan shots of trains from on the ground or in the air. If you're not in the locomotive cab or on-board the train, it's the next best thing to being there.
