Built in April of 1947 for the Atlantic & East Carolina Railroad, this vintage General Motors Electro-Motive Division diesel switching locomotive has served numerous railroads in her 64 years of service. Originally displaying reporting markings, SOU 404, Southern Railway later renumbered her to SOU 1007, as seen by THIS 1974 photo by Tom Sink. Owned and operated by Norfolk Southern through the 1980's and 1990's, No. 1007 was sold to the G&O in later years. She still proudly displays her Southern livery and is actively used by the G&O's Knoxville & Holston River Railway. She, along with sister Chattanooga Traction Company No. 4 were featured as the two photo subjects during the 2011 Diesel Days photo shoot.
