| An eastbound (south along the Mississippi River) BNSF grain train passes beneath the bluffs just north of Savanna that are lit up by late afternoon sunlight passing through residual sugars left in the leaves of maple trees. This train sat to the north a couple hundred yards for about 45 minutes as it waited for two westbound trains to clear the single track beyond Savanna. I was afraid I was going to lose the light, but with about five whole minutes to spare, it resumed its journey. |
