| It was worth the wait, after hiking nearly the length of Berne Siding scouting locations on a day of scant rail traffic I settled on this spot above the Berne signal bridge. The last train to pass by (at Gaynor) was an empty coal around 9 AM. At about 2 PM the 1690 detector went off so I climbed up on this rock and when I saw these colors poke around the corner I said "Yes!" and traded a thumbs up with the conductor as they passed by. |
