Remarks & Notes
A Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority train rounds the curve at 1st Street and Pacific Avenue in downtown Long Beach as it begins its trip to 7th Street / Metro Center near downtown Los Angeles. This is the MTA's "Blue Line," the first line built in MTA's light rail system, opening in 1990. For the most part, the "Blue Line' follows the last operating Pacific Electric line - the PE's Long Beach line ceased operations in April 1961 (and I am an old enough codger that I remember riding it!).
