Just four minutes after Amtrak's eastbound Southwest Chief departed Fullerton, BNSF train M-BARWAT1-05A passes through the passenger station there. This Barstow to Watson train is popular with the assembled railfans, as it provides a respite from the nearly endless parade of intermodal trains. Watson Yard, located in Wilmington, near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, is the destination for a variety of box cars, covered hoppers, flats, gondolas and other "traditional" freight cars.
