Remarks & Notes |
Impala Platinum is the worlds second largest platinum mine and operates an extensive electrified (3000v DC) rail system serving 14 shafts. On a typical winters day in the South African bushveld, one of Impala's fleet of class 8E's is running around its train of empties at No.11 shaft, before pushing them under the silo (behind the photographer) for loading. |
