Remarks & Notes |
Three LRS end cabs go about their switching duties at the busy industrial park just south of town that keeps this little line alive even though the majority of the mileage to Raeford is out of service. The little KLWX switcher is rather interesting. It has kept is LRS red after being rebuilt by the G&O Knoxville Locomotive Works, but appears to have been repowered based on the new exhaust. The trucks look to be of ALCO heritage. The unit was running on this day and was dropped off at Pilkington Float Glass to be used for in plant switching. Please comment if you know more about this unit! |
