Remarks & Notes
NS 195 heads north with empty racks from the car lot at Walkertown, NC. The excessive power (two C40-9s, C39-8, GP38AC, C36-7, and another C40-9) likely includes engines returning to Roanoke off a Belews Creek coal train or grain train from Winston-Salem. The old N&W signals (RW 11.0 and 11.1) came down last year. Starkey, with its mountain scenery, has always been high on my list of favorite locations - and it's just down right soulful up there.
