A child's first train journey is a magical experience. Watching the world fly by, as smooth as if you're riding on air rather than steel wheels, is a fascinating pastime while on the train. The location of the tracks behind the buildings near the right-of-way dictates a personal view into the lives and times of the people who live and work near the tracks, something very different than you see from the road. Even those of us who have been commuting for years, while we may be lost in thought and plugged into an iPod, still enjoy the view out the window from time to time.
