| It's 7:20AM on a dreary Wednesday morning and not much is going on in Lincoln. Then the crossing signals activate, announcing a train's imminent arrival. From down the tracks comes the sound of a train moving fast. Wham! Express train no. 408 behind cab car 1533 slams across Lincoln Road at track speed, four cars and a GP40MC following it. As the sound of the diesel fades away the crossing gates lift and Lincoln is quiet once again...until commuters start gathering on the platform for the 7:50 local. |
