| Not popular with the crews Soo's small fleet of U30C's never spent much time in Upper Michigan after their first couple years of service. They were slow to load, rough riding and were prone to mechanical failures(normally at the most inopportune moments). The light wasn't around and the 806 is filthy but by 1978 even seeing a Soo U-boat on trains 911/912 was a rare occurrence. Here 806 leads 555 and 89 cars on 911 at Gilchrist. |
