At this point in their trip, the crew of 35N has had a nightmare run. The train is already two full days late getting out of Toledo, and now their second of three units has died. Just minutes later, the third unit out would also die, leaving them with only one unit and nearly 10,000 feet of train in tow. After tying the train down in Bryan, the crew would bring two of their units back to Archbold and add another unit, ironically from yet another 35N, which was also running one full day late. Ah, winter on the railroad.
