Remarks & Notes
The last train left Rhyolite, Nevada in 1914. Ninety-seven years later, the remains of a wood caboose sit across from the former train station in this ghost town. The city only lasted about fifteen years, until the ore deposits nearby were exhausted. This caboose, which is also faintly lettered for the LA&SL (Los Angeles and Salt Lake RR), once also served time as a gas station--note the tank behind.
