| CNW occasionally was able to score some all-rail ore off the Marquette Range. The summer of 1991 was one of those times and this westbound nearing Little Lake has 137 empty coal hoppers trailing the 14 cars of merchandise heading up to the mines. Power is 8052,8007,6806 and after delivering this whole train to the LS&I at Eagle Mills the units will head to Empire Mine and pick up a loaded set of the CNW's own ore cars and head for Escanaba. The LS&I will get the coal empties to the mine and weigh them and in a couple days they will be ready for the CNW to foreword to Chicago. |
