Remarks & Notes |
A pair of trusty standard cab EMD's lead Union Pacific's 'Short Line Transfer' job through Grant Tower in Salt Lake City. The UP 3146 (the second SD40-2 with that number) was built as the UP 3782 by EMD in October 1980. It was renumbered to clear the digit for a UP SD70M delivered in 2003. Second out, UP SD60 #2220 was built the UP 6065 by EMD in March 1988. It was renumbered to clear the digit for a new GE C44AC-CTE delivered in 2001. For several years, the Union Pacific shuffled the deck to make way for hundreds of new units. |
