Remarks & Notes
The 1982 NRHS Convention was held in Denver, Colorado. The schedule included an excursion trip from Denver to Sterling and return. Union Pacific 8444 was the power for this trip. Union Pacific Class FEF-3 was built by the American Locomotive Company in December 1944. She has 80 inch drivers, boiler pressure of 300 lbs, 25 x 32 inch Cylinders and can deliver 63,750 pounds of tractive effort. On the mainline, with sunlight on her smokebox, UP 8444 performs yet another runby for the railfans.
