Remarks & Notes
This is just the second train on the Santa Fe to feature an all-Superfleet consist that included engines other than FP45s. GP60Ms 100 and 101 (spliced with FP45s 96 and 92) lead train 2-891-23 out of Los Angeles as they climb Cajon Pass on May 23, 1990. The previous day this same consist arrived in L.A., the first train to operate with the then-new GP60Ms. Officials are along for the ride as well, seated in business car "Mountainaire" just behind the diesels. Click HERE for a shot of this train in San Bernardino.
