The plethora of snow shots stemming from the recent storms across North America reminds me of some of my favorite "oldies," including this photo of an early Conrail freight, headed by a former NYC unit quite familiar with these rails, together with two four-axle GEs, 2901 and 2677. This is the image that inspired the cover of the book Trackside in Southern Michigan.
