| Burlington Northern SD40-2 6801 and Southern Pacific GP40X 7201 hustle a westbound freight through Monolith, California, just east of the town of Tehachapi. At this time in the late 1970s, the SP was testing a small number of BN units with Locotrol to see if the system would work on their demanding railroad. |
