A tank car loaded with the chemical sits in the transfer yard ready for pickup by NS. Phenol is used in the making of polycarbonate (PC) which in turn can be used to make compact discs (CDs), CD-ROMs, recordable CDs and digital versatile discs (DVDs). Photo inspired by Elliott Chenger
