Remarks & Notes
At the time I shot this the Northlander was running about 1 hour behind schedule. When I checked the Northlander status page about an hour later, it had made up 30 minutes of that. It was really screaming as it passed by me here on Aspdin Road -witness the bit of pan blur on the trees in the background, even at 1/400th. These trains get the lowest priority down south on CN's Bala Sub, behind CN freights VIA passenger and GO commuter trains, and therefore are the most susceptible to delays. However once they get north of Washago and onto the Newmarket Sub there is a lot less traffic to contend with and the crews do their best to make up time. I wouldn't doubt this one was right back on schedule by the time it got to North Bay.
