Soo GP30 crosses the Carp River north of Moran, MI on the ex DSS&A St. Ignace line. The 714 was wrecked in 1973 and sent to MK for a rebuild. It was then wrecked again in 1980 and was the first GP30 retired out of the Soo Lines fleet of 22. The short four car train was an indication of the sorry state of traffic using the car ferry Chief Wawatum at the time. |
