Remarks & Notes
The bell atop the short hood of Burlington Northern GP9 1871 is a dead giveaway that this is a former Northern Pacific engine (NP's 248). The local gendarme doesn't even look up as this single car train (not counting the caboose) passes by on its way south in Marysville, Washington, on September 18, 1979.
