| Wintertime at "The Slot." One day prior to a substantial snow storm that blanketed the entire Puget Sound, a westbound BN manifest works it's way up the eastern slope of Stevens Pass. Now I know the road is plowed and drivable these days, yet in '96 it required the mile trudge from U.S. 2., a pair of surplus East German wool pants, and insulated combat boots.
