| The lower section of the ultra-scenic Cape Town - Simonstown line runs adjacent to the sea. In December 2009 the line was damaged by a freak combination of high tide and big storms. At one stage it looked as if its fate was sealed, but the decision to repair was eventually made and in September 2010 trains started running to deliver stone for the constuction of revetments adjacent to the roadbed. Here No 36-008 is seen propeling a load of 10 wagons down to the construction site. |
