| After several weeks of curtailed services, passenger operator Shosholoza Meyl ran a limited number of trains over the Heritage Day long weekend. This special from Johannesburg to East London is approaching Viljoensdrif station, hauled by a pair of class 35 GM diesels in place of the usual Class 6E1 electric. The first vehicle behind the locomotives is an oil-fired steam generator car for train heating - hardly necessary at this time of year! |
