"Racing" up the recently constructed third track between Whittingham and Minimbah in the Hunter Valley, QRN loaded coal behind 5008 and 5001 easily overhauls 9006 and 9026 on a similar PN train, the reduced grade of the new line making life a little easier for the QRN train. Just as these trains passed the photographer an empty coal came down the bank, such is the intensity of traffic on this busy line.
