Remarks & Notes 
Western Maryland had three RS-3's that were built with the unusual high short hood. The Pennsylvania had one making a total of 4 units in this configuration. WM were scrapped. The PRR was traded to the Lehigh Valley and later rebuilt by Conrail with EMD engine. It is preserved by the Rochester NY Chapter, NRHS.
