| Huntsville's resident geep hauls a short 595 south at Old Muskoka Rd. The top set of signals warn mortorists turning left at the intersection just to the photographer's right that a train is approaching, or even occupying the crossing. Years ago when this crossing was protected only by crossbucks I can recall a scary close call here while doing just that on my snowmobile in a night blizzard. Something didn't feel "right" so I slowed to a stop, then felt - more than saw- the passing trucks of a long freight thundering through at eye level. Notice how the foliage is starting to change slightly, the first signs of autumn approaching! |
