Ain't she sweet? With literally one minute to go until the alpine sunset in Silverton, Eureka & Palisade #4, aka "Eureka" runs the last few hundred yards to the depot and a well-deserved rest. Privately owned by Attorney Dan Markoff, she is the last wood-burning, narrow gauge 4-4-0 left in operation and the only wood-burning 4-4-0 that still pulls passenger excursions on occasion. Beautifully ornate and diminutive in size, Eureka was clearly the "belle of the ball" at the D&S Railfest in 2010.
