| At precisely 178 miles 22 chains from London King's Cross, Outwood Station is at the top of a four-mile stiff climb from Yorkshire's administrative capital, Wakefield. This year the 'Scarborough Spa Express' seems determined to avoid the sun, August (thus far) having proved to be no better than July! Nonetheless the train makes an impressive sight as 45407 blasts under Lingwell Gate Lane road bridge in a fine drizzle. |
