Remarks & Notes 
Look at this scene from the era when Amtrak was down to its last usable coaches and power. The GP9 had the only operable steam generator. The E unit had a bad prime mover but power sets needed a cab on each end. Coaches were from the last thirty years with rusty floors you could see through. New rolling stock was in the works, in the meantime this kind of a package was what kept Amtrak running.
