Remarks & Notes
A look back at life in America, 1956. It is believed this is Howard St., where passengers transfer to the Skokie and Wilmette lines, for trains running under wires. South of here is the Howard-Jackson Park line, today the CTA's Red Line. 6000-series open-window cars in Mercury green, Swamp Holly orange, and Croydon cream built by St. Louis Car Co. on reconditioned streetcar components were the norm then. Corrections always welcome.
