Remarks & Notes
B&P was the first non class 1 railroad in the country to commission a Genset, here the 1401 is mated with a GP9 and a GP38 not seen switching out the Butler yard in the late afternoon. The 1401 has two 700hp rated motors that turn on and off via Computer. The exhaust emissions are extremely lower then the average engine and uses 25% less fuel consumption. More info can be found here. http://www.railwayage.com/breaking-news/new-gensets-rolling-on-the-buffalo-pittsburgh.html
