Some miscreants in LeRoy released the hand brakes on some hopper cars that then rolled down to P&L Jct. where the cars slammed into the consist of a train working the yard. G&W 61 was wrecked from the collision with the cars. It was a fortunate thing that the crew was in the other end of the consist.
