ALCo.-MLW model FPD7 #8414 passes Ministro Carranza station with a freight train of private operator Buenos Aires al Pacífico S.A. (BAP). The locomotive, purchased to ALCo. by Ferrocarriles Argentinos in the first half of 1957 and built by Montreal Locomotive Works under ALCo.'s Specification DL500C with model 251B engines, is a member of the group of 25 units of the only order built under that specification by the Canadian subsidiary. MLW's only other DL500 was demonstrator number 1953E, with a model 244 diesel engine.
