The Southern Pacific's Piru Creek through truss bridge has been stripped of its track, as the Santa Paula Branch has been cut back to about 100 yards west of here. There is talk of Metrolink laying track through here again one day. The date on the bridge is 1902. The line was the orignal SP Main from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It was downgraded to branchline status in 1904, when a new main line was opened from Montalvo to Burbank (today's Metrolink Ventura Sub).
