2. While waiting for my first train to pass and grab a shot with some good timing and luck. Since we have some time before this train passes I will give you some info on my trip. I live in Eau Claire and needed to go to Kansas City for some training for work. I decided to make a trip out of it. Kansas City is due south from Eau Claire but I ended up heading west. I planned on railfanning the BNSF through North Dakota and Montana, the Montana Rail Link, the Powder River Basin, and the Moffat Route in Colorado before heading east to Kansas City. My trip brought me within 8 miles of the Canadian border to the North and 8 miles of Idaho to the west. From Eau Claire to Kansas City I will put on 4,193 miles in 7 1/2 days.
