Remarks & Notes |
Whilst in charge of the 21:15 Oxford to Paddington service on the 6th August 1989, 50025 'Invincible' was derailed at high speed at West Ealing by an obstruction deliberately placed on the line. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries. At Old Oak Common, Invicible shows the damage that would eventually lead to withdrawal on the 14th August. Some news footage of the incident can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttxlSVik1wo. |
