Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific's mainline across Nebraska is famous for long trains stretching to the horizon, and lots of them, so this eight-car local, with a single GP38-2 for power, is an anomaly. UP 2000 is heading west with grain cars to set out at the various elevators along the line, and a former Missouri Pacific bay-window caboose brings up the rear on a hot August 1988 day.
