Remarks & Notes
A Rainbow of Schemes or Merger Schemes
The Portland & Western 663 power has a remarkably colorful consist with five paint schemes on six locomotives! Here the 663 power is transferring between the P&W OE Yard to the U.P. Albany yard for servicing and fuel, and they have the OE Yard switcher, PNWR 1201, and 29 cars in tow.

From front to back, the locomotives here are PNWR 3003, 2307, 3004, BNSF 3013, BNSF 3130, PNWR 2312 and 1201. BNSF locomotives 3013 and 3130 have been in the 663/664 power consist since about February 23, 2010. The 3013 appeared on P&W property first, followed by the 3130 a few days later.

Note particularly the BNSF H1 scheme appearing between a BN scheme and an SF scheme--the essence of the merger, captured in the trio. The Yellow-Black is the St. Lawrence & Atlantic scheme, the Orange with black stripes is the Genessee & Wyoming scheme and the Red, White & Blue scheme is Pittsburg & Shawmut "Bicentennial" scheme. Keeping with the merger theme, both the ST&L and P&S are owned by the G&W, and the power was transferred to corporate sibling Portland & Western, but not repainted in the G&W scheme.
