Montreal built # 1970 waits in Gaia Yard for a decision on whether it be needed to take over from ailing classmate 1971 on a PTG tour. In the event 1971 was fixed and carried on. 13 of these locos were built for CP in 1979, but only 12 are still in traffic, 1961 being destroyed in an accident in 1985.
