| Train 74211, southbound holiday extra from Johannesburg to East London, pulling away from Rooiwal after a brief stop to collect a written order, authorising the driver to pass a faulty intermediate signal in the next section to Heuningspruit. The TCO (train control officer) watches from the shadows on the platform. The building on the left is the signal cabin housing the lever frame that controls the semaphore signals. The starter signals for northbound trains are visible in the distance. |
