| Soo 403,2408 loading the carferry Chief Wawatum at St. Ignace. Loading the ferry was a careful balancing act where you had to make sure loads and empties were in a proper position, or the boat would develop quite a list. One of the boat workers is no doubt telling the engineer on 2408 where he would like some of the cars spotted. If you look closely, even though this is late March you can spot some pretty large chunks of ice out in the bay. Nothing to bother the Chief which was noted for having some pretty good ice breaking ability. |
