BNSF SD40-2 6851 was damaged in grade crossing collision with ethanol tank truck near the Suncor Refinery in Commerce City, CO, at the 56th Avenue grade crossing on July 23rd, 2009. BNSF 6851 was working the Market Street job, running long hood forward when the truck tried to "race ... through a flashing railroad crossing" (- Denver Post). The crew apparently jumped with only minor injuries, although there was quite a fireball, as attested by the scorch job the 6851 received.
