With a fast passenger train now clear of the yard, a Norfolk & Western mixed local takes the main to begin her daily run through the Virginia countryside. Actually, what you see here is the kick-off to the Strasburg Railroad's annual "Trains & Troops" event, which is held each November to celebrate the service of our nation's veterans. It features two trains per hour, one of which is always a mixed-consist "troop train", complete with WWI and WWII reenactors. It's a rare opportunity when just anyone can ride a virtual photo charter for the price of a regular coach ticket.
